MYGIRL Laugh Out Loud
Entertainment Available September 12
"Over the
top with comedy." -Twitch
“Lee Da Hae as Joo
Yoorin is downright ‘wrong’; she made me laugh until my tummy
ached.” - SPCNET
“...explosive screen presence
of Lee Da-Hae ... one of the best new talents emerging in the
last 4-5 years.” - Twitch
When Gong-chan (Lee Dong-wook)
meets the lively and beautiful Yu-rin (Lee Da-hae), he notices
the resemblance between her and his long-lost cousin, whom his
dying grandfather has been searching for. He hires Yu-rin to
stand in for his missing cousin as a final gesture to his
grandfather - but his own growing feelings for her threaten to
ruin everything. The real drama begins when Gong-chan's
ex-girlfriend, a pro tennis star (played by Park Si-yeon),
enters the scene determined to win him back.
MyGirl
was a Top Ten hit in Korea in 2006, aided by the appearance of
hot new actor Lee Jun-ki. The King and The Clown star
plays Jung-woo, an unscrupulous playboy who sets his sights on
Yu-rin.
The real draw to this drama is the knock-out
performance of Lee Da Hae as Yu-rin. She lies, cons and breaks
the law but through it all, you can't stop loving her! Her
delightfully wicked performance will leave your sides
splitting but your heart screaming for more. MyGirl is
a must see for any K-drama fan!

EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK OF
PALACE Scheduled for Release in
October
"A work that reflects the
future of Korea's TV drama Industry" Variety
Magazine It’s a different Korea,
where Kings and Queens rule and a beautiful palace sits in the
heart of modern-day Seoul. Released in Korea as Goong
(aka. Princess Hours), and based on the popular Manhwa,
Palace journeys into the fantastic world where present
day Korea is still ruled by the Joseon
Dynasty.
Chae-Gyung, (Yoon Eun-Hye) is just an
ordinary, klutzy and socially awkward highschool girl from a
modest family. Although she is not particulary smart or
beautiful, Chae-Gyung is compassionate, free-spirited and
fiercely loyal to her loved ones.
Shin-Goon, (Joo
Ji-Hoon) is the handsome but outwardly unemotional Crown
Prince of Korea. He dreams of becoming a film producer and
longs for a life free of the crown’s obligations. Although
everyone believes him to be the perfect prince charming, he
has secretly vowed to give up the throne for his
freedom.
Chae-Gyung and Shin-Goons’ lives are worlds
apart, however, those worlds are about to collide when they
discover they are engaged to be married! Before their births,
Chae-Gyung’s grandfather saved the emporor’s life during the
Japanese invasion of Korea. As a token of his appreciation,
the emperor promised her grandfather that she will one day
marry the crown prince. Will Chae-Gyung and Shin-Goon be able
to straighten out this royal mess before it’s too late?
Palace is truly a spectacular cinematic
experience with its kaleidoscope of over-the-top set design,
elaborate costumes and vividly colored cinematography. Royal
secrets, love triangles, and plots to overthrow the throne all
await you in this offbeat romantic comedy of rags-to-riches.

ACTOR
SPOTLIGHT Lee Dong-Gun's Rocky Road to
Stardom
At age 26, Lee Dong-Gun has
already recorded two albums, stared in 14 dramas, and acted in
three movies. But this award-winning actor didn't become an
international success overnight. Lee entered the entertainment
industry in 1997 as a singer, but struggled with success. He
uses the metaphor of a wheel to describe his music career.
"Sometimes it's up and sometimes it's down."
With the
mix reviews on his singing, he turned his focus to acting.
However, his debut performance in the drama, Ad
Madness, didn't exactly leave a lasting impression on
audiences. It wasn't till his performance in the 2004 drama,
Sweet 18, that his career began to take off, launching
him as one of Korea's hottest international superstar. "If it
wasn't for acting, I would have left the entertainment
business." said Lee in a recent interview.
Acting in
such hits as Ruler of Your Own World, Stained
Glass and Lovers in Paris, Lee's popularity has
risen as Korea's newest "hanryu" star. (The term used to
describe a Korean star with pan-Asian popularity.) As Lee's
fan base grows throughout Japan, China, the Philippines,
Singapore and the United States, his success is growing
comparable to mega K-drama stars such as Bae Yong-joon, Lee
Byung-Hun, Won Bin and Jang Dong-Gun.
Stained
Glass (a.k.a. Glass Picture) was aired in Korea and Japan
from late 2004 to early 2005. Lee plays Dong-Joo, an orphan
whose best friends with Gi-Tae (Kim Sung-Soo, Lawyers
and Full House). The two friends become rivals as they
compete for the same girls affection. Set for release in
October, the drama journeys into a complicated triangular
relationship among three young people, in which love is as
beautiful yet fragile as a stained glass picture...

Spotlight The Ryu Siwon Hawaii
Prince Fan Club
Tessie Viloria, President · Karen Sonstegard, Vice
President Noreen Kawachika, Secretary · Cheryl Matayoshi,
Treasurer
The Ryu Siwon Hawaii Prince Fan Club
officially started on October 6, 2001, making it the first
Korean fan club in Hawaii. Consisting of 44 members, the club
is dedicated to Korean drama actor, Ryu Siwon. Siwon made his
debut in the 1992 KBS drama Feelings and has since
stared in sixteen dramas and has received 4 awards. The
idea for a fan club started when Siwon’s performance in the
1998 drama, Paper Crane, caught the attention of Tessie
Viloria, President of the Ryu Siwon Hawaii Prince Fan
Club. “I love his kind, gentle manner, his smile, and his
sense of humor and wit. His good looks, acting and singing
ability only serve to make this sweetie more irresistible”
said Viloria. Fan club members stay in touch through
emails and their quarterly meetings. They enjoy participating
in local community events such as the Korean Festival in
Hawaii, and conduct one service project a year. The last three
years they have conducted a charity auction with all items
donated by their members. They have raised money for the
Korean Flood Fund, Korean Care Home in Hawaii and UNICEF.
In July of 2001, a small group of members flew to
Korea especially to meet Siwon. According to Viloria, this
gives Siwon the distinction of being the first Korean talent
to have American fans visit Korea especially to meet him. They
have a birthday celebration in October for Siwon (See Above
Photo), and an anniversary party in July celebrating his debut
performance. For more information about Ryu Siwon,
visit his Official Website or the USA
Ryu Siwon's website , set to premier on
September 8! To say thank you to the Ryu Siwon Hawaii
Prince Fan Club, YAE Insider will be sending them
exclusive K-Drama merchandise! If you have a K-Drama fan club
or website and would like to be featured, please send an email
to Katie Flanagan.
