You’re Beautiful star’s next project

Actor Jang Geun-seok held performances entitled "Jang Geun-seok Asia Tour" for two consecutive days at U-Port Hall in Tokyo on May 29 and at Universal Studio Japan (USJ) in Osaka on May 30. During the performances, he showcased his various charms including singing and talking to his fans. Jang said about his recent drama in the press conference, "Through the drama "You're Beautiful", I could show my natural looks as best as I could. I think that I could develop myself by expressing myself in the drama. Also, when I played Hwang Tae Kyung, a leader of the band 'A.N.JELL', I could develop more driving forces".

He also introduced his next movie "You Pet". The movie is based on a Japanese cartoon and he will play a rising classic ballet dancer, but he wants to be a musical actor and choreographer. He said, "I had to go on a diet for the movie and the most difficult part was that I could not eat my favorite food, Kimchi stew. For the role, I practice dance eagerly from Monday through Friday. In the future, I want to be a character actor who can express various human emotions of sufferings and sadness from deep inside the heart".

Actress Seo Woo joins 20-20 club

Actress Seo Woo, 25, has joined the "20-20" club, meaning two million or more in film ticket sales and a viewer rate of 20 percent or more in TV dramas.

Her latest film, "The Housemaid - 2010", has become a box office hit with an audience of more than two million, while "Cinderella's Sister" being aired on KBS2 has topped viewer ratings with 20 percent. Seo stars in both works.

"There are many actresses and actors with the '20' record in each of the two categories but a small number with both titles at the same time", said a spokesman for Seo's management agency. "Seo is a novice in acting. So it is more important for her".

Last year, the rising star played a role in the drama "Tamra, the Island" and the film "Paju", attracting a large following.

Eugene hosts cable beauty program

Eugene has a drama about to premiere (KBS’s Baker Kim Tak-gu) but now she’s adding a cable program to her schedule; she has been chosen to host style network O’live’s new program Get It Beauty, which is currently in the works and will overlap with her acting gig. The drama begins in June, and the cable show in July. Eugene seems a logical choice for the beauty program, which will feature skincare and makeup tips, as she recently put out her own beauty book. She also hosted a previous program on O’live, Eugene’s Makeup Diary, which was popular with viewers.

Kwon Sang Woo: 'I Filmed Movie with Debut Mindset'

"I filmed this movie with the mindset I had when I debuted,” actor Kwon Sang Woo said at the production presentation for the movie “Into the Gunfire,” which was held on May 10 at Imperial Palace Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He added, “Thanks to the veteran actors Kim Seung Woo and Cha Seung Won, I could film this movie successfully.”

Kwon Sang Woo portrayed the protagonist Kap Cho, a student soldier fighting against North Korean soldiers. The movie tells the story of battles fought between 71 student soldiers and North Korean soldiers. During the Korean War, the army led by Kang Seok Dae (Kim Seung Woo) had been withdrawn from Pohang to defend the Nakdong River area and left only 71 student soldiers behind. Among the students, Jang Bum (T.O.P) was appointed as a company commander, but his troops periodically caused friction with other soldiers led by Kap Cho. Park Moo Rang (Cha Seung Won), a commander of North Korean soldiers who devastated the Youngduk region with his 766 guerrilla troops, disobeyed the Communist Party’s order to advance to the Nakdong River, instead secretly changing course into Pohang and ending up fighting with the student soldiers who were left behind. Chae Rim returns to All About Eve

The role that made Chae Rim a star was the 2000 Hallyu hit All About Eve, which is now getting a Chinese remake starring Jang Hyuk, and she’ll have a special appearance in the new drama as well. The Korean miniseries was a huge hit and paired Chae Rim with Jang Dong-gun, while pitting her against devious rival Kim So-yeon, the latter of whom knocked it out of the park portraying the quintessential backstabbing second lead in the role based on Eve of the original Hollywood film. Jang Hyuk will take the Jang Dong-gun role — a gentle Prince Charming who was Chae Rim’s boss at the broadcast station where they worked — while the rest of the cast will be played by Chinese actors. Chae Rim’s role has been cast with Zhu Dan; Kim So-yeon’s will be played by Cheryl Yang. It’s not yet clear what kind of character Chae Rim will play in her cameo. China’s version of All About Eve will air in September.
